Mechanic Helper (FT)

All-Equip Repair and Service Ltd. is looking to hire 2 full-time mechanic helpers with the ability to work at a variety of
duties to join our team. This is a full-time year round position.


JOB DUTIES:
* Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas
* Assist in repairing, maintaining and installing machinery and equipment
* Assist in repairing, maintaining and installing refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment of heavy trucks
* Assist in mechanical, electrical and body repairs of trucks, heavy equipment and trailers and chassis
* Assist in repairing electrical appliances, small engines or other similar equipment
* Perform other labouring and elemental tasks as required
* Disassembling, assembling and assisting the mechanics with trouble shooting
* Perform miscellaneous labouring activities to help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed
* Perform minor component repair or replacement and assist with the removal, replacement and repair of major
components and other duties under the direction of a lead technician or supervisor
* Help mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes, check tires and brakes, replaces
spark plugs and engages in other simple tasks.
* Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters and lights
* Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper location
* Change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of trucks
* Inspecting and assessing tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality and overall health
* Repairing tire punctures and replacing faulty valves
* Installing new tires
* Maintaining equipment
* Other duties as assigned

  • Productively works with others as a team member as well as independently

  • Demonstrate safe work habits and apply safe practices

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • May handle weight up to 50lbs

SALARY:
$18.00 per hour, 42.5 hours per week

Welder (FT)

We are currently looking to hire 6 full-time welders. This is a full-time year round position.


JOB DUTIES:

  • Read, Analyze and interpret blueprints, welding process specification, drawings and measurements to plan layouts to meet product specifications

  • Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

  • Setting up components for welding according to specifications

  • Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW) and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)

  • Competently utilize manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment

  • Weld small and large components such as beams, railings and angle iron

  • Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job

  • Handle metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines

  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers and maintain and repair all machinery

  • Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors

  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat resistant gloves, protective masks and safety shoes

  • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature

  • Weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions

  • Able to choose the best equipment to weld specific metals

  • Identifying issues and hazards

  • Operating angle grinders and other tools

  • Lining up specific metal components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces
